Meet Contessa!

This is Contessa, Tess or Tessa for short. She's a Dachshund mix mom adopted on Wednesday. She was born Jan 9, 2008 according to the adoption papers. Which means they probably made that up since she's a little over a year old. She is leash and potty trained. We pulled up and a volunteer was walking "Lilly" (their name didn't fit). Mom looked at her and said "I want him." It's a her, of course, but she's not pregnant and very loving. Wednesday I got tired after bringing her home and we took a nap for 1.5 hours. She and I were cheek-to-cheek. Apparently she's been looking for me since I left. (Aww!) We adopted her from the Georgia SPCA, which was about 5 minutes from my mom's house.

She enjoys playing in the freshly-cut grass. Later today we're gonna take her to the vet and then PetSmart to get some cute clothes since it's getting chilly here. Don't want her getting sick! She's on Blue Buffalo food, since it's highly recommended on not being grain based. We don't want her getting heavy like Wrinkles was. She still doesn't know what to do with beds and toys. Treats are kind of a hit or miss, mostly miss. But she found the Kong with little treats fairly entertaining Wednesday night. Tessa jumps on the bed from the floor, which is no small feat. Mom has high box springs and a nice padded mattress. She's doing so well. Glad I dragged Mama there now. She needs companionship. And Tess is a complete lapdog and shadow. No one gets out of her sight.

I can't wait to see her tomorrow. The picture quality sucks since all I had was my camera, but I'm taking my Rebel over tomorrow to take better pics. Tessa is an absolute doll. And smart! She rode in the back, without use teaching, her leash attached. We didn't have a crate since we thought we'd have to wait a few days. Not so much apparently.

There was an adorable Cocker/Beagle mix that I would have snatched up if I had a fenced in yard. He was only 4 months, but so cute! Eli was simply precious.

Tess is adorable! Love the pic of her peeking out from the covers...major "awww." I love that you gave a shelter dog such a great home. She'll be loved and pampered--and she'll have someone to lavish love on right back. Double win.

One cool thing about getting her for your mom: you get to enjoy her, too.

Oh, we were only going for rescue and shelter if we could. Though, after the two strikes we were a tad...disenchanted. First Wilma, then Gale had pups. (Yes, a play on Gail Simone's name.) I had curled up in the covers. She's such a cuddlebug. Perfect for an elderly mom, ya know? She's not overly energetic. Later we go to the vet. She will be loved to bits and pieces.

Now I wish I still lived with my mom. Well, that and the major bump on back of my head yesterday and migraine. Mom would have taken care and puppy wouldn't have left my sight.

I'm looking for ways to break my lease anyway. This is place I swear has fire hazards. Outlets aren't supposed to just randomly go out....2 in the same room. Overheating is BAD. Among other things.

Yay! New doggy! Awesomeness. :) She looks completely adorable, and lap dogs are The Best. I'm glad your mom has got someone to shower oodles of slurpy affection on her :)

Funny you mention kisses. Mom got them the minute Tessa jumped in her lap at the SPCA. It was so cute. Mom fell even more in love. She loves to be near you, never out of sight. She's an amazing dog.

I didn't get to see her earlier. I felt like shit after my fall and bump early yesterday morning. I have to wait until Monday now.

Update! Update! How's the doggie doing? How are YOU doing? I'm betting busy, especially if you're in school since the semester is wrapping up. Good luck with all that! :)

Aw! Hi there, honey!

I've been busy with school and reading comic books and stuffs. You know, life. I got rid of Creepy Dude. (Which you don't know about, but I need to type up about. Eileen does, though.) And there's another guy (online, of course, that's my luck) that's into me. Damned county boundaries. And you know, the top half of the country.

Heh. How're you?

Oooh, I wanna know about Creepy Dude! :)

And considering I found my current sweetiepie online, it can totally work. Plus, it's an excuse to have a mini-vacation :-P Where is the dude (state-wise)?

As for me, eh, passed the MN bar - so woot, I'm an official attorney now. I'm crazy about my sweetie. The parents have been going back and forth on whether they'll divorce or not (ick). So, it's a little good, a little bad. Just like life. :)

Do you have Facebook? We could be Facebook buddies! :)

I'll write up about Creepy Dude later in the week.

*grins* It seems like the internet is latest dating service, an electronic matchmaker. My honey's from Montreal, so it's a bit more than the states. Which is a bit of a downer since I wish he lived here. But he can understand French! And Catholic. And hot in that dorky way, ya know? I could use a mini-vacation but the prices out of the country. Eesh. I've completely flipped my sleeping schedule so I can talk to him and he does the same thing for me. He hates leaving to go to work. Full blown crush on my part.

Are you practicing anywhere now that you're all Alphabet Souped up? *grins* You enjoy your sweetie, don't you? This is a good relationship for you? And parents do we/don't we can be mind-numbing sometimes. Hopefully they'll resolve it soon.

I do indeed! And you could see him on mine. *grins* Email me your link and I'll add you.
